Du 26 au 30 mars, l’UNESCO organise comme chaque année son événement phare dans le domaine des technologies de l’information et de la communication dans l’éducation : la Semaine de l’apprentissage mobile. Il réunira des experts, des utilisateurs et des décideurs politiques du monde entier. L’objectif est de partager des idées et des bonnes pratiques sur les différentes manières de mettre les technologies mobiles au service de l’apprentissage pour tous, notamment des communautés défavorisées.

Something feels different this year

On this International Women’s Day, I must admit to be experiencing mixed emotions.

I continue to feel great frustration that gender equality, much like Human Rights, is an agenda under siege, with hard-fought gains being eroded by the behaviour or apathy of leaders around the world. At the same time, I feel renewed hope and excitement.  There is a fresh energy and demand for change stirring from below, and the momentum is building.

This video was produced by the team of seven young people who took part in a two-week participatory video process (conducted in partnership with InsightShare). In this process they consulted their peers in different neighbourhoods of Abidjan via video (see pictures in this report). They then edited the film autonomously, content and form reflecting their personal analysis and choices. The video was screened for and validated by the youths who had been consulted.
