Youth at the centre of peacebuilding: Director of Interpeace USA presents Progress Study on Youth, Peace and Security to the UNSC

On Monday 23 April, an Open Debate on Youth, Peace and Security was held at the United Nations Security Council, on the eve of the High-level Meeting on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace organized by the President of the General Assembly. On this occasion, Graeme Simpson, Director of Interpeace USA, presented the main findings and recommendations of the Progress Study conducted to support the implementation of Resolution 2250 (2015) on Youth, Peace and Security. Palestinian Youth Challenges and Aspirations

This report was commissioned by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Peace- building Support Offi 뤘 ce (PBSO) with funds from the Swedish International Development Coopera- tion Agency (Sida). The report was developed as a contribution to the Progress Study on Youth, Peace and Security mandated by Security Council Resolution 2250. The research and consulta- tions for this report followed the key research questions and methodology developed for the Progress Study.

Youth perspectives from the global North

This report presents the findings from two focus group discussions that were undertaken as a contribution to the Global Progress Study on Youth Peace and Security in Stockholm, Sweden on the 9th – 11th of August 2017. This study was conducted as a collaboration between Interpeace Sweden, The Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation and the Pluralism and Dialogue Institute at Fryshuset.
